Broads
four-piece
female acapella group
The
Norfolk Broads are a four-piece female ensemble who enjoy singing
folk songs about love, despair and dastardly boyfriends. They are
drawn to traditional British and American songs that tell a story,
and the people and emotions at the centre of those stories. From dark
tales of murder and seduction, to ballads of love and hope, the
Broads take these stories and reimagine them, their tight four-part
harmonies bringing life back to long quiet words. The stories of
women and their lives are a constant source of inspiration, and the
Broads enjoy exploring this female side to the folk world.
"Young
female quartet the Norfolk Broads are strong storytellers...Their
close harmonies brought a witty feminist take to a well-curated set
of tales of impotence, greedy landlords, and the joys of a single
life."
