Emily and The Simons
are an Anglo-Belgian Balfolk trio. They perform original music
centred around Emily’s compositions, drawing inspiration from
life's encounters and the energy of the dance-floor. With a wide
repertoire ranging from exquisite, sensual mazurkas to joyful,
driving bourrées, their music transports the imagination, stirs the
feet and uplifts the spirit.

Legendary folk band
Blowzabella return to Stamford Arts Centre as part of their 40th
anniversary celebrations. They make an inimitable, driving,
drone-based sound played with a fabulous sense of melody, rhythmic
expertise and sheer feeling. They compose their own music which is
influenced by English and European traditional dance music. Many of
the tunes they've composed are "standards" in the modern
British/European folk repertoire and are played by people all over
the world. Bands across Europe who experiment with folk music often
cite Blowzabella as a major influence. Blowzabella is Andy Cutting -
diatonic button accordion; Jo Freya - vocals, saxophone, clarinet,
whistle; Paul James - vocals, border bagpipes, saxophones, whistle;
Gregory Jolivet - hurdy-gurdy; David Shepherd - violin; Barn
Stradling - bass guitar; Jon Swayne - border bagpipes, saxophone.

Colin-Tampon, meaning
the sound of Swiss drums, are three fine traditional singers and
multi-instrumentalists drawing their repertoire from traditional
French songs and dances. They take us back to a time of singing for
every occasion and where every opportunity was good to sing. The
three members of Colin-Tampon (Catherine Paira, Sylvain Piron and
Georges Haibach) come from the East of France. They specialise in
traditional singing for traditional dances. They bring with them a
range of local instruments - Flutes, diatonic accordion, psaltery,
nyckelharpa, bagpipe, epinette de Vosges and recorder.
